Action

Action derives from the Latin "actio" meaning deed, action, act out. Is related with the noun, "action" in French, as well as "azioni" in Italian, in the sense of doing something, to carry out an activity. In economics, the action is a paper issued by a corporation, which proves the ownership of which is held on a share capital of the company that issued it, in virtue of which the holder receives the dividend (part of business income). The shares have a value called nominal value, determined at the implementation shares outstanding and a real value, that value at which circulated sold and bought the stock.

Action are:
- Nominal (nominal) that is enrolled with the names of the owner and can be transferred to another person, only by entering the transaction in a special register.
- Ordinary give the holder the right to obtain an income (which varies depending on the size of company benefits) and the right to attend the general meeting of shareholders
- Bearer who have written on them the names of the owner. Ownership shares are sent to the owner once the buying action.
- Shares with a nominal value reduced, accessible to a larger number of shareholders who invest their savings in such actions.
- Privileged shares which confer the right to obtain a fixed dividend expressed as a percentage. Shareholders owning shares privileged advantage over the ordinary share when profits fall and disadvantaged when they grow.
